The Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Gdansk subsidized in 2024, through the state budget's special purpose reserve for state budget units, the implementation by the Maritime Search
and Rescue Service of a task in the field of environmental protection and water management in the area of the Pomeranian province.
Task performed in the period: 01.01.2024. - 31.12.2024.

Project description:
- Purchase of 4 rescue UTVs with trailers and a seating and standing set for the rescuer
- Purchase of 9 drone kits with a thermal imaging camera weighing no more than 2kg (along with the necessary hardware and software).
- Purchase of 9 drone kits with a thermal imaging camera weighing no more than 2kg (along with the necessary hardware and software).
- Training for 36 pilots from the Pomeranian region in the operation of drones in the special category NSTS-5
The implementation of the task contributed to the improvement of public safety and environmental protection by improving the potential of rescue services.
The result was an improvement in the effectiveness of the search and reaching the victim due to difficult access, challenging terrain as well as the size of search areas, and improved detection of hazards related
to pollution of the marine environment, the occurrence of an accident (e.g., a vessel) or monitoring of phenomena and elimination of the effects of natural disasters.
