Units of the Maritime Search and Rescue Service intervened three times on 30.10.2021.
Operations inspectors at the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Gdynia received the first report at 01:09 from the Sopot WOPR. It concerned the disappearance of a female Ukrainian citizen, who, according to the report, was last seen in the area of Sopot pier, where she wanted to bargain for her life. Active search for the missing woman lasted until 04:38, units participated: SAR Service - R-20 boat, Sopot WOPR - quad and boat
and Sopot City Police Station. The woman could not be found during the night operations conducted by rescuers and police officers. She was found the same day in Warsaw by police officers before 12:00 p.m.
At 11:36 a.m., we received the next information from the 112 operator about a 47-year-old man, located in Kąty Rybackie, who had fainted after walruses. In order to provide the injured man with assistance, lifeguards from the Shore Rescue Station in Sztutowo were dispatched, who, after arriving in the area of the entrance to beach No. 56 in Kąty Rybackie, provided him with qualified first aid and handed him over to the Medical Rescue Team, which arrived at the scene.
The last action of the SAR Service yesterday consisted of providing assistance from 16:06 together with the Leba Volunteer Fire Brigade
and the Medical Rescue Team to a man who lost consciousness and showed no vital functions at the level of the entrance to beach No. 16 in Leba. After a struggle of more than an hour, unfortunately, it was not possible to restore the victim's vital functions. A doctor from the Air Rescue arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead.
After the operations were completed, the rescue readiness for the units of the Maritime Search and Rescue Service was renewed.
