Operational inspectors at the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Gdynia and the Polish Rescue Radio coastal station on February 23, 2022, at around 10:20 am, received by road radio a "Man overboard" signal from the yacht "Yachting". The sailing vessel, which included 9 crewmen with the injured man (all of them Polish citizens), was located about 130 km north of Leba and 80 km east of the Swedish island of Öland, at the confluence of the Swedish, Polish and Russian SAR zones of responsibility. After receiving a distress signal, a helicopter and an airplane went to help, from the Swedish side - a helicopter and an airplane, from the Polish side - a Navy helicopter. As it was established, the person who found himself in the water was the skipper of the yacht. The shipwrecked person was the first to be found by the Swedish plane, about 1.5 miles from the "Yachting", then the Swedish helicopter picked up the injured person and transported him to the hospital in Karlsrkon. The entire incident took place in the Swedish SAR zone of responsibility. After the operations were completed, the helicopter returned to the airport in Gdynia Babich-Dole and renewed its readiness.
