The "SAR-1500" type units, are modern vessels characterized by a high speed reserve, of the order of 30 knots.
They can provide shelter for 75 survivors.
The units are replacing the now phased out older R-17 type units, which have been in rescue service since the early 1970s. There are 7 units in our service: Breeze, Cyclone, Hurricane, Monsoon, Skwal, Typhoon, Wind. The rescue ship Cyclone, currently the only one of the SAR 1500 type vessels, is equipped with elements of the AR - Augmented Reality - augmented reality system for navigation. The components of the additional equipment are: a radionameter, an IR camera and an illuminator made with LED technology.
Purpose:
- Finding and retrieving survivors from the water and means of rescue.
- Giving qualified medical assistance to survivors.
- Transportation of casualties (survivors) from the water and means of rescue.
- Transporting the injured (castaways, injured and sick) to land.
- Fighting fires on ships. Rescue towing.
